What Type of Countertops should I get?

Quartz is a man-made product that is created using natural materials. It is composed of 90% ground quartz and 10% resins and pigments. When combined, they form a hard and durable surface. This hardness, among other properties, is what makes quartz unique among other countertop materials.

Granite countertops are made from natural granite, a volcanic rock that’s formed when magma cools and solidifies deep beneath the Earth’s crust. The main components of granite are quartz and feldspar, but it also contains other minerals like mica. The exact combination of minerals gives granite its unique colors and patterns. Granite is a relatively porous stone, so it needs to be sealed after installation and periodically thereafter.

Marble countertops represent an elegant and timeless for any kitchen. The only drawback with marble is that they are susceptible to scratching and staining, which call for regular maintenance and sealing.

It will vary depending on your end goal. Want a countertop that you want to install and not think about? Quartz is your best friend. Want something that looks timeless with some very minor drawbacks? Go with marble. Maine Cabinet Company will do its best to supply you the best material to suit your needs.

Soapstone countertops have a smooth, matte texture and are heat resistant. Their only drawback is they scratch easily.

No, the main difference between several kinds of quartz is the quality of materials being used. Maine Cabinet Company uses only the highest quality quartz and manufactures designs with state of the art technology.

The number of hours required for each project varies greatly, but usually the install can be completed within one day.

When choosing a countertop, you should pay attention to how easy it can be to clean, durability, health, price, and how aesthetically pleasing it is to you.
