About this project:
These homeowners requested a rustic, industrial farmhouse look for their open-concept kitchen.
We brought their design request to life by utilizing bold wood and black accents throughout the kitchen. The custom-built wooden range hood and island legs reflect the home’s gorgeous exposed ceiling beams. The wood pieces also create a rustic feel by linking the inside and outside worlds, drawing a visual connection with the forest just outside the kitchen window.
The industrial element is exemplified by the black accents used throughout the kitchen. The windows, framed in black, are intentionally left curtainless, and the sink faucet is black rather than chrome. The entire perimeter of the kitchen is ringed with a dark quartz countertop.
In contrast, the countertop of the kitchen island is a bright, gleaming white. Though it may seem unusual to use two different countertop colors, the daring design choice is used to great effect in this kitchen. The white shaker cabinets from our Executive Cabinetry frameless line, complete with matte black hardware, tie the entire kitchen together.
