Contemporary Kitchen with Two-Toned Cabinets

About this project:

Love the idea of an all-white kitchen, but worried it will feel too cold? Painting lower cabinets a contrasting color to white brings a pop of visual interest to your kitchen and creates a fresh take on a traditional look.

In this case, the homeowners chose a dove-gray color for their lower cabinets. The two-toned cabinetry brings a whole new dynamic to the kitchen -when paired with the medium-toned white oak hardwood floors, the effect is calming.

Both the upper white Shaker cabinets and the lower light gray Shaker cabinets in this kitchen are from our Maine Cabinet Company Signature line. The classic lines of the cabinets are brilliantly contrasted with the kitchen’s more contemporary elements like glass in the upper cabinets, the marblesque quartz countertops, the subway tile backsplash, and the sleek black accents of the light pendants. The result is a sleek, modern kitchen that still feels like a warm room to gather in.
